Treat FSGS with GFR 13 without Dialysis

When FSGS patients' GFR level has decline to 13, it means that they have developed into Stage 5 CKD (or ESRD). Is there any other treatment for this stage apart from Dialysis?

The answer is "YES" on condition that patients can take effective treatment to repair the kidney damage and improve the GFR level to 15 or even above. The treatment they find should be able to eliminate the root cause. What is the root reason for FSGS?

Actually, the root cause lies in the disorder of patients' immune system. Due to decrease of immunity, the cell-membrane receptor irritates the the production of massive immune complexes which leads to the ultra inflammatory reaction. As a result, the glomerular epithelial cells are damaged. When the filtration barrier of the kidney is damaged, its permeability increases, resulting in leakage of substances like protein and red blood cells. Furthermore, if the continuous kidney damage and inflammatory reaction can be not stopped in time, the renal fibrosis process will continues, leading to End-Stage Renal Disease.

Knowing the pathogenesis of FSGS clearly can guide us to find the best solution. If people with FSGS and GFR 13 want to avoid dialysis, they need to get a systematic treatment with curative effects including clear up the immune complexes deposition and toxic substances in the body, stop the deterioration of kidney function, repair the damaged renal cells and tissues, and regulate the overall immune system. This is the only way to save the kidneys.

In order to ensure the best curative effect, treatment plan should be made by kidney experts after analysis of each patient's detailed disease condition.
