Proteinuria And Kidney Damage Caused by FSGS

Focal segmental glomerulonephritis is a kidney disease in which a part of nephrons--renal filters, are scarred. Proteinuria is an indication to say the kidney function decline caused by FSGS. This article talks about proteinuria and kidney damage caused by FSGS.

Proteinuria and FSGS

For the past 20 years, the yearly incidence of primary FSGS has risen from less than 10% to approximately 25% of adult nephropathies. Proteinuria is almost invariable in patients.

Proteinuria describes a condition in which urine contains an abnormal amount of protein. Healthy kidneys contain about a million renal filters named nephrons. The renal filters function to remove the waste products from the blood and keep the protein and red blood cells in the blood.

When the kidneys are damaged by FSGS, some nephrons will fail to function well, causing protein loss known as proteinuria.

Is there any recommended treatment?

Proteinuria is just the symptom in surface. To reverse the proteinuria, you have to focus on the underlying FSGS. Chinese Herbal Medicine is suggested for it helps repair the damaged kidney tissues and improve kidney functions.
