Eid Mubarak! Greetings from Shijiazhuang Hetaiheng Hospital
Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibramhim to follow Allah’s command to sacrifice his son Ishmael. Today, I would like to introduce you this event. Please take my sincerest greetings to all of you, my sisters and brothers!
History
Eidul Adha commemorates Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice everything for God, including his son, Ismael. God became impressed with Abraham's sincerity, and gave him a ram to sacrifice instead. For that reason, Muslims who can afford to do so also sacrifice an animal on any one of the three days of Eidul Adha. A third of the meat is kept, a third is shared with family members, and a third is given away to needy people.
Eidul Adha is a time of sacrifice for Muslims. It is the day after Arafah (9th of Dhul-Hijjah on the Islamic calendar). It begins on the 10th of the month and lasts for three days. This is the second main annual festival in Islam (the other being: Eidul Fitr).
Facts
The day begins with morning prayers, followed by visits to family and friends and the exchange of food and gifts. Muslims are obliged to share food and money with the poor so that they can take part in the celebrations.
First of all, Muslims will perform a ritual body washing shower, called “ghusl” before waking to the place of prayer.
Then, they wear their most beautiful clothes on the first day. A few days before Eid ul Adha, Muslims shop for their new Eid clothes.
Next, the day begins with h morning prayers, followed by visits to family and friends and the exchange of food and gifts. Muslims are obliged to share food and money with the poor so that they can take part in the celebrations.
