My FSGS Comes Back After Kidney Transplant

My name is Heitor from Brazil and I am 21 years old. I was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulonephritis at age of 8. I firstly presented with leg swelling and went to see nephrologist who performed a renal biopsy and I was conformed with FSGS.

I was only prescribed with some hormone and immunosuppressive drugs. However, they did not work very well. My doctor told me that I had nothing to do except to wait for the worsening of my renal function until my kidneys failed completely.

In 2009, I started hemodialysis. However, during the process, I experienced serious infections, fluctuating blood pressure etc and then I had to transfer to peritoneal dialysis.

In January 2010, I performed a renal transplantation, but it only last for one year because the returning of the disease. Now I am back on dialysis and waiting for my second renal transplantation. My doctor told me there is some problem with my immune system, but transplantation can not change it. I am afraid my new kidney may fail again after my second renal transplantation.
