Can FSGS Be Treated If Patients Are Already on Dialysis
Kidneys are bean-shaped organs, and their functioning tissues responsible for cleansing the blood are called glomeruli. FSGS causes different extent of glomerular scarring in different cases. If patients have already been on dialysis, most of their glomeruli must have been damaged. Can FSGS still be treated when patients are on dialysis?
What do kidneys do and how FSGS affects kidney function?
Kidneys are located near the middle of the lower back. They consist of tiny clusters of looping blood vessels, so as to filter extra fluid, waste products and toxins from the blood. In the same time, blood circulation provides enough nutrition and oxygen to guarantee the normal work of inherent kidney cells.
Because of poison damage, abnormal changes of humoral immunity and hemodynamic, or other reasons, tiny clusters of looping blood vessels are damaged, resulting in FSGS. When FSGS progresses into Kidney Failure, dialysis may be needed.
Can FSGS kidney disease be treated for patients on dialysis?

However, not all FSGS patients who are on dialysis can be treated. Generally, only if patients still have urine or certain kidney function, can they have chance to reverse their kidney damage and treat FSGS.
