Why Patients With FSGS Often Have Bubbles In Urine

Why Patients With FSGS Often Have Bubbles In UrineFSGS is a primary glomerular disease, and it can cause severe damage to patient’s kidneys.

As we know, a major function of kidney is producing urine, so it is common that FSGS patients will have many obvious problems in his urine, and it is common for patients to see bubbles in their urine.

Why patients have bubbles in their urine?

Urine is transparent and amber liquid in normal condition, but when there are organic or disorganic substances in urine, their tension will be increased, and lots of foams will appear under the effect of gravity.

Thereby, bubbles in urine can be caused by many factors, but for most patients with FSGS, it is more likely to be caused by their proteinuria. In fact, when patients’bubbly urine is caused by proteinuria, the bubbles on patient’s urine surface often have small size, and they can exist for a long time.

Why patients with FSGS have bubbles caused by proteinuria?

Protein is an important nutrient which should be kept in our body, but for patients with FSGS, their kidney structure will be damaged by their disease.

Kidney consists of nephrons, and nephron consists of kidney tubule and glomerulus. Glomerulus has the function of filtration, which can filtrate out the metabolic wastes and keeping the useful substances in blood.

As a result, when patient’s kidney structure is damaged, there will be lots of glomeruli being damaged, and the permeability of glomeruli will be increased. Then, the nutrients that should be kept in blood will flow out through urine, and protein will also flow out in this process, which will form proteinuria.

Bubbly urine means patient already has massive proteinuria, and for patients with FSGS, their proteinuria is very dangerous, because it can aggravate patient’s kidney damage obviously. Besides, massive proteinuria can also cause patient to have obvious edema.

Thereby, it is important for patients to take measures to control their proteinuria as soon as possible.
