Low Blood Pressure In Dialysis
Patients in the end stage of kidney failure will need to accept dialysis to keep health. However, dialysis will also take many side effects to patients, among which low blood is a common symptom.
The occurrence rate of low blood pressure is about 20%~40%. It mainly appears in the middle and later stage, and to patients who have long-term dialysis, almost all of them will experience at least once in this therapy. When it appears in dialysis, patients may suffer from nausea, vomit, hard breath, pale face and many other symptoms.
Low blood pressure can be caused by many reasons, and here is the list.
The decrease of effective blood volume:
In dialysis, the excess amount of water will be removed out from patients’ blood, and this causes the density of protein increasing, so the fluid in the tissue space will flow into blood vessels. When the volume of fluid removed is more than the volume supplied, and the reaction rate of blood vessels’ contraction is lower than the rate of water being transported out, patients will have low blood pressure. Besides, if the water transported out is more than the body’s dry weight, patients will also have low blood pressure.
Autonomic neuropathy and the decrease of blood vessels’ contraction ability:
autonomic neuropathy can cause baroreceptor to have dysfunction, and the decrease of blood vessels’ contraction ability will reduce its reaction rate to the change of blood pressure. Both of them will reduce blood vessels’ ability to regulate blood pressure. Thereby, low blood pressure will be easy to appear.
Taking hypotensive drugs before dialysis:
If patients have hypertension, he may take hypotensive frugs frequently. But if patients take hypotensive drugs before dialysis, it is easy for them to have low blood pressure in the process.
In addition, there are many other reasons that can cause low blood pressure in dialysis, such as heart function’s dysfunction, patient being allergic to the dialysis machine, etc.
To control this complication, patients should regulate their diet and drink water appropriately, and it is important for them to keep good emotion and positive attitude. Doctor should also choose dialysis machine reasonably, and examine patients’ condition frequently, besides, doctor should give patients well mental cares.
