If there is little protein in patient’s urine, there may not be obvious symptom in patient’s urine, and that can not be found except by taking urine test.
While if there is massive protein in patient’s urine, the most obvious symptom in patient’s urine is foams in patients urine surface. In fact, many factors can cause foams in urine, but if the foams are caused by proteinuria, the foams’ size will be very small, and they can stay for a long time before they disappear.
Why people has proteinuria?
For healthy people, the protein leaking out through their urine is usually less than 150mg per day, and when the leaked protein is more than this level, it is thought to be proteinuria.
Proteinuria is often to be seen in patients with kidney disease, which is a common complication for them. In this condition, protein leaking out through urine is due to the damage in patient’s glomerular mesangial area, which has the function of keeping the useful nutrients including protein in our body. And if patient’s proteinuria can not be controlled, it can aggravate patient’s kidney damage obviously.
While if patient’s proteinuria is not caused by these reasons, that may not be very serious, because many reasons can cause proteinuria, like strenuous exercise, much protein intake in diet, fever, cold environment, etc, can also cause people to have proteinuria, but in these condition, it will not last long.
