A soft tube called a catheter tube through the patients’ abdominal wall into the peritoneal cavity. This catheter is also known as channel, it provides a channel which can help peritoneal fluid enter into the peritoneal cavity. Placing the catheter needs a minor surgery. After catheter implantation, the wound needs a several weeks to heal. Under normal conditions, placing catheter has no pains, and it will remain in the patients’ body during the entire process of peritoneal dialysis.
