Lupus Nephritis is kind of kidney disease that is caused by systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). SLE is a condition in which your immune system begins attacking different areas of your body. According to the severity, Lupus Nephritis is divided into five stages by World Health Organization (WHO).
Five stages of Lupus Nephritis
Stages are divided based on how many glomeruli are damaged.
Stage 1: Minimal Mesangial Glomerulonephritis.
This stage is histologically normal on light microscopy but with mesangial deposits on electron microscopy. It constitutes about 5% of cases of lupus nephritis.
Stage 2: Mesangial Proliferative Lupus Nephritis.
This form typically responds completely to treatment with corticosteroids. It constitutes about 20% of cases.
Stage 3: Focal Proliferative Nephritis
It often successfully responds to treatment with high doses of corticosteroids.
Stage 4: Diffuse Proliferative Nephritis.
This is the advanced stage of lupus with more than 50% of glomeruli damage. There is the risk of Kidney Failure. Patients require high amounts of corticosteroids and immune suppression medications.
Stage 5: Membranous Nephritis
This stage is characterized by extreme edema and protein loss. Steroids will be given more.
New treatment for Lupus Nephritis
You can see from the above that Stage 3 Lupus Nephritis has a relatively good outcome. Even though steroids can treat Lupus Nephritis effectively, they are not natural and safe for the kidneys in the long run.
Here, I recommend you take Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Unlike traditional oral Chinese herbs, medicines we are using are micronized into extremely tiny particles so that they can permeate into kidneys directly and are fully absorbed. Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is based on such medicines and is performed as an external application.
