StageⅠ: A normal glomeruli type. There are no obvious symptoms in this stage of Lupus Nephritis and urinalysis is still normal.

Stage Ⅱ: Mesangial Proliferative. Stage Ⅱof Lupus Nephritis’s lesions limit to the mesangial area and is marked by mesangial hypercellularity. Besides, symptoms of microscopic hematuria and proteinuria may be seen.

Stage Ⅲ: Focal Segmental Lupus Nephritis. Sclerotic lesions of less than 50% of glomeruli is the typical feature of Stage Ⅲ of Lupus Nephritis. The first noticeable symptom is swelling of the legs, ankles and feet. Other symptoms may differ from person to person. The symptoms may include weight gain, high blood pressure, dark urine, foamy urine and so on.

Stage Ⅳ: Diffuse Proliferative Lupus Nephritis. Stage Ⅳ of Lupus Nephritis is severe and extensive. And more than 50% of glomeruli are involved. In this case, severe proteinuria, swelling, unmanageable high blood pressure will appear on patients.

Stage Ⅴ:Membranous Lupus Nephritis. It is similar to primary membranous nephropathy, but

at the same time, it has a membrane and endothelial cell proliferation. The symptoms of this stage include a large amount proteinuria, hypertension, high cholesterol and so on. The prognosis is poorer and it will develop into renal failure finally.

Stage Ⅵ: Advanced Sclerosing Lupus Nephritis. This is the end stage of Lupus Nephritis which is represented by global sclerosis >90% of glomeruli. Impaired kidneys nearly lost their abilities and this stage of Lupus Nephritis is life-threatening.
