Question: No pain in peeing but not being able to eliminate urine when i need to go. Not a UTI. What can it be? I have stage 3 kidney disease.

Urine Changes in Stage 3 CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease)Answer: There indeed some urine changes in Stage 3 CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease). In the early stages, patient may have frequent and urgent urination. They usually urinate a lot. However, in the advanced stages of Chronic Kidney Disease, the urine output may reduce. What if it happens in Stage 3 CKD?

There are two types of urinary inability: obstructive urination and non-obstructive urination. Obstruction may refer to kidney stones that block the urinary tract and inhibit the urine from flowing out.Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) may also be a reason. However, since you said it is not a urinary tract infection, so this factor can be excluded.

Non-obstructive urination means the bladder muscle is damaged. It is not common in Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease patients.
