Why I Get a Nose Bleeding in DialysisBleeding in dialysis happens sometimes. It may occur in gingiva, mouth, eyes or nose. The reasons why patients get nose bleeding in dialysis are listed in this article. I will also give you some tips to deal with that problem.

1. High blood pressure

It is a common complication of renal failure patients. Kidneys have a function to keep electrolyte balance. For dialysis patients, their kidney function is severely damaged, and thus cannot keep the blood pressure stable. High blood pressure will break the nasal membranes, leading to nose bleeding.

Tip: Patients should better control their blood pressure, which not only can cause bleeding nose but some other serious complications, like heart diseases. Keeping a low salt, low fat and low protein diet is very helpful.

2. Drugs

Some medicines applied during dialysis may cause nosebleed. Over-dose of heparin and anticoagulin, which are used to prevent thrombus, also have the side-effect of nose bleeding.

Tip: For these patients, they can use micromolecular heparin. If the condition doesn’t improve, they can use other substitutes.

3. High level of toxic accumulation

Creatinine, uric acid and some other wastes and toxins will also cause nose bleeding.

Tip: Enema Therapy can be taken. With this therapy, wastes and toxins are excreted through the intestinal tract, reducing the burden on kidneys.

4. Malnutrition

It is very common for dialysis patients. Some necessary nutrients, like vitamin C and vitamin K, may lose during the process. If there is not enough vitamin C, patients may be at the risk of septicemia. Shortage of vitamin K may cause coagulation disorders. Bloody nose can occur in the two conditions.

Tips: Take some supplements or foods rich in these nutrients. However, patients should take the right amount of them according to their conditions, as an overdose of these nutrients also has side-effects.

Our Treatment effect

Proteinuria is a common symptom of kidney disease

Mouse over the picture, it can be magnified.

It can make your urine foamy. Although it does not make you feel uncomfortable, it can impair your renal function and make your kidney disease worse. Conventional treatment such as steroids and immunosuppressants can hardly make it negative. In our hospital, systemic Chinese medicine treatment can help you turn it negative. Look at this picture, bubbles in urine become less and less with our treatment going on.
