What Should Diabetics Do With Hemoglobin 8.1 and Creatinine 3.4

What Should Diabetics Do With Hemoglobin 8.1 and Creatinine 3.4If diabetics are tested out hemoglobin 8.1 and creatinine 3.4, they must also have renal anemia and kidney problem. This is because hemoglobin 8.1 is lower than the normal, while creatinine 3.4 is higher than the normal. In this case, patients with diabetes should adopt some treatments to manage their illness condition.

Normal levels of hemoglobin and creatinine

Hemoglobin is one protein in red blood cells that is responsible for carrying oxygen. The hemoglobin test is done to measure how much hemoglobin is patients’ blood. The normal results for adults are as follows:

- Male: 13.8~17.2 g/dl

- Female: 12.1~15.1 g/dl

Now, we can know hemoglobin 8.1 is quite lower than the normal value, so it indicates the onset of renal anemia.

Creatinine is generated from creatine during muscle metabolism, and healthy kidneys can discharge it from the body and maintain a normal creatinine level in the blood.

- Male: 0.6~1.2 mg/dl

- Female: 0.5~1.1 mg/dl

Creatinine 3.4 is higher than the normal value, so it means patients’ kidneys have been damaged severely.

Treatments to help manage these two problems

In order to overcome renal anemia and low hemoglobin level, diabetics should modify their diet plan to include some foods rich in iron, vitamin B12 and folic acid. Besides, they may also take iron supplement and EPO therapy as doctors’ advice.

As for lowering high creatinine level, some oral medicines like ketosteril, Medicated Bath, Enema Therapy, Foot Bath, Acupuncture, Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy and Clear Blood Pollution Therapy may be needed to cleanse the blood and repair damaged kidney cells. The detailed treatment plan should depend on patients’ illness condition.

During the whole treatment, patients should also pay highly attention to their blood sugar control. Otherwise, all of the above methods to increase hemoglobin level or reduce serum creatinine level won’t work as well as we expect.
