How Many Grams of Protein Per Day Is a Safe Level in Stage 3 CKDStage 3 CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) patients has moderate renal function damage. As a result, protein leaks out with urine through injured glomeruli. How many grams of protein per day is a safe level in Stage 3 CKD patients?

Overview

The glomeruli in the kidneys are small units responsible for filtering the blood. Wastes and toxins are removed by them. They also prevent some substances, such as protein, from being taken out of the blood. If the glomeruli are damaged, protein cannot be hold back and then leaks into the urine.

Normal protein in urine

For healthy adults, the protein amount in urine should be less than 150 milligrams (about 3 percent of a teaspoon) per day.

There is a medical term—proteinuria, describing a condition where protein leakage is more than 150 mg/ 24 hours. Any questions, please email to kidney-symptoms@hotmail.com or leave a message below.

How to reduce proteinuria in Stage 3 CKD?

● Reduce protein intake in diet. Some foods contain rich protein, such as turkey and chicken, fish, cheese, pork loin, lean beef and veal, tofu, beans and eggs, etc, should be taken with limits. Yet, some of them are of high-quality protein, like egg white, fish and milk can be taken. Do not eat too much. In general, Stage 3 CKD patients are required to take not more than 0.6 gram per kg of body weight each day. Therefore, consult your doctor and he or she will calculate the recommended amount of protein for you.

● Repair damaged glomeruli

It is not easy to repair the damaged renal tissues. Over-the-counter medicines cannot help you achieve that goal. You are suggested to take Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). According to almost 30 years of clinical experience, I think it is the best choice for kidney disease patients to take such natural medicines. Our Treatment effect

Proteinuria is a common symptom of kidney disease

Mouse over the picture, it can be magnified.

It can make your urine foamy. Although it does not make you feel uncomfortable, it can impair your renal function and make your kidney disease worse. Conventional treatment such as steroids and immunosuppressants can hardly make it negative. In our hospital, systemic Chinese medicine treatment can help you turn it negative. Look at this picture, bubbles in urine become less and less with our treatment going on.
